Principal's Message
|
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are halfway through the school year 2019-2020. CMIT North High School has been filled with many memorable events and successes, and I believe we will experience many more wonderful accomplishments during the rest of the year.
I would like to say special thank you to our science team, robotics team, math team, TRAC bridge team, and athletic programs for their great accomplishments! Please follow the CMIT North High School newsletter and Twitter account (@CMITAcademy) for more information and news.
We started updating our school website and Twitter account to provide more information to our community about CMIT High School events. The newsletter and emails will remain as the main communication tools for our families.
We are happy that we did not receive any suspensions since November 11, 2019. It is a huge behavioral improvement, but we still receive minor behavioral problems that cause disruption during instructional time. These minor behavioral problems are still ending up with removal from the classroom to maintain a proper learning environment. Please remind your students that repeating minor behavioral problems also can cause in-school or out-of-school suspensions. CMIT North High School's goal is minimizing all disruptions during instructional hours.
Data has proven that the current school age generation faces a lot of serious problems including having easy access to drugs that may affect their future goals. Please take your time and discuss this with your students to prevent possible drug-related activities. Let's create a learning community that supports each other to grow healthy and strong!
CMIT North High School’s first priority is safety! We are here to establish a safe and orderly learning environment for our students! Your engagement is extremely important during this process!
Sincerely,
Gonul Ozturk, M.Ed

FIRST Robotics Updates
|
The lift team is still putting together the lift mechanics so that it can fit with the rest of the robot. The chassis team after having some components not on hand is back on track and proceeding with the build. There are still some tests that need to be done on parts of the chassis and some areas need to be redone for stability and carrying the weight of everything else from the chassis. Stephanie Brown is our head of safety. The programming team has recently finished programming the microcontroller.
Our Team Illusion t-shirt has a final design and is ready for production. All of our motors are ready to be mounted in our gearbox. The custom square chassis is complete and ready for mounting. Team Illusion is almost ready for 2020 action!!

Varsity Softball Workout on Tuesday the 4th of February at 3 pm
|
Lady Tigers!
Varsity Softball will have a conditioning workout Tuesday the 4th of February at 3pm at the small practice field in the high school parking lot. This will also be an introduction for those who are interested in playing for the 2020 season. For those players who are new to the sport or school, our team last year displayed remarkable improvement and was extremely competitive. We expect to field a strong team for this season, so I hope we are all excited for Spring Training 2020. THIS WORKOUT IS NOT MANDATORY, but it is a great way for me to meet with past players and potentially new ones that may be interested in trying out. I will meet with all those interested/available at 3pm, and this workout/meeting should not last more than an hour or so with a HARD STOP at 4:30 pm. The weather for that day looks unusually mild, so please dress accordingly to run, catch, throw, etc. You do not need your gloves, and I will provide equipment as needed. As always, bring bottled water to stay hydrated, and I look forward to seeing you on the 4th!
P.S. Please contact me directly at cdonelson@cmitacademy.org if you have any questions or concerns.
