SeaPerch
In our previous meeting, students worked together to create different types of hovercrafts. One type of hovercraft that students built was made up of styrofoam trays and a motor. Students also made hovercrafts using a compact disk and balloon. Students enjoyed working together while also getting prepared to build real underwater robots. The importance of following the directions was a big part of this activity and will be very important while building an underwater robot. In the next meeting, students will continue to finish their hovercrafts. SeaPerch meetings are on Tuesdays from 3:15pm to 5:15pm, and the team is open to all middle and high school students. If you are interested in participating in SeaPerch, just send an e-mail to Mr. Bayram at nbayram@cmitacademy.org Written by: Muneeb Sahibzada

Biology Pre Lab Discussion on the Effect of pH and Temperature in Enzymatic Reactions
Come and visit the Biology students with this interesting experiment that they were discussing to do. Biology students will examine a series of seven colored solutions to make a “chemical rainbow.” By mixing different reagents, they will get red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet colors, which will be classified from strong acid to strong base. They will use this knowledge to understand the effect of pH and temperature in the enzymatic reaction. Gemma Y Bognot Clarke, Ph.d. Science Teacher Coordinator
