The CMIT-N HS Science Olympiad Team did great in the Regional Tournament, although they participated for the first time. We competed against 63 HS teams in Maryland. We were the only team from Prince George's County. There are 23 competitions in the Science Olympiad Tournament, and all competitions happen in one day. The CMIT-N HS team competed in all 23 events and won 5 medals and 3 ribbons Medal and ribbon winners: - Water Quality 2nd Place (Sarah Suleman, Kaitlin Quarshie) - Fermi Questions 2nd Place (Niyah Belton, Carvengy Milfort) - Mousetrap Vehicle 2nd Place (John Ikegwu, Joshua Ikegwu) - Thermodynamics 3rd Place (Anthony Stills, Samuel Opoku) - Wright Stuff 2nd Place (Haris Chaudhry, Kavyasri Gouda) - Protein Modeling 5th Place (Ansharan Akbar, Ashley Thcokote, Kavyasri Gouda) - Boomilever 5th Place (John Ikegwu, Joshua Ikegwu) - Sound of Music 6th Place (Kavyasri Gouda, Sarah Suleman) The whole team is awarded with 5 day well-deserved dress down for 5 medals. Dear CMIT Families, CMIT North Girls Basketball teams are hosting an International Women's Day clothing drive to donate clothes for the less fortunate. Clothes are being accepted from February 25, 2019 through March 8, 2019. We are accepting gently worn clothes, all sizes and genders. No stains, tears, broken zippers, missing buttons, etc. Drop off for materials will be held in the CMIT high school lobby as well as the CMIT middle school lobby.
