Past Super Bloody Wolf Moon Experience
One thing about me is that I love astronomy. When I heard about the Super Blood Wolf Moon, I was exhilarated! These types of total lunar eclipses are so rare! Around 9:30 was when this phenomenon began. My mother and I checked all the windows and doors to see where the moon was located. After all our searching, our deck was the best place to see this moon. At 10:50, the moon was about 25% covered in light red. I often came back to check on the moon and track its progression. At 11:10, it was 50% covered in darker red. At 11:30, almost 80% of the moon was covered in orange-red. At 11:41, 100% was covered with a copper color. But around 12:50, something changed. A piece of the moon was lighter than the rest. I wasn't sure if this phenomenon was over and the moon was going back to its normal state or if this was a part of this eclipse. I ended up doing my research and realized that the eclipse was over. At 1:30, the moon was already halfway into its normal state. I'm glad that Mr. Bayram sent out the article and that I was able to view this rare phenomenon. The next time that the public will be able to view this is in 2021 and the year I graduate, 2022. Written By: Niyah Belton (the pictures are in order with the times)

HS BREAKING NEWS
Softball Interest Meeting on February 21 at 3:50pm
Happy New Year Lady Tigers! This letter serves to notify you that our first Softball interest meeting will be held on February 21, 2019 at 3:50 pm in the cafeteria. All those interested in trying out and participating for the 2019 season should plan to be there as the meeting should not last more than 30-40 minutes. The official season starts on March 1, 2019 with our first practice/tryout, so this gives us plenty of times to do two things: 1. Get your physicals completed. You must have your physical completed before tryouts. If you have played a sport this year, you have already turned yours in, so you do not need another. If this is the first sport for you this school year, then you must have a current physical on file. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. The link for the CMIT physical information is attached here: http://cmitacademy.org/highschool/physical-examination/ With over 30 days left to tryout, there is plenty of time to have this completed. 2. Continued success in the classroom and proper athletic conditioning for the upcoming year. As a reminder, you must have a current GPA of 2.5 or better to tryout for the Varsity Softball team. If you have never played before, the tryout period will be from March 1st until March 7th, so this does not give us a lot of time to be in our best academic and athletic shape. We will send out another reminder closer to the date and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Coach Donelson
