NASA Outreach
|
This past Saturday, NSBE FIRE was at NASA's 60th Anniversary STEM Fair. Each NSBE competition team created an activity for the students to do there. The Ten80 team brought their cars and let students test the engines and see how large they are. TMAL had elementary, middle and high school math worksheets. To complete worksheets, the students had to apply math principles, such as addition, subtraction, order of operations, etc. Team members were available to go over the answers and provide assistance. When the worksheet was complete, the students received a prize. In total, over 75 worksheets were completed by attendees. The VEX team brought their robot and let students feel the attachments. To showcase our other activities at our chapter and to show what we are doing in Principles of Engineering later in the year, we brought electronic circuit sets with fans and songs for the students to play with. Each circuit made students learn about current and battery strength. Some of our students were able to tour NASA's campus and meet some of the civil servants on site.

Dress Down NOT Earned
|
The checkpoints to be met were:
20 or less Uniform Violations Schoolwide
125 or less Tardies Schoolwide
For the week of 10/1-10/5 students had:
26 Uniform Violations
213 Tardies
Therefore, there will NOT be a dress down day next week. Please encourage your friends to get to class on time and in their proper uniform so that hopefully the school can earn dress down days in the future. Remember, scarves, headbands, and headphones are not permitted in the hallway and those DO count as violations and are counted in your totals.
