8th Grade Student Shout Outs
|
Emmanuella Ogwo, Auburn (Top Left):
Emmanuella is an energetic young lady who puts effort into all she does. She "goes the extra mile" to further her understanding of Spanish during her own lunch hours, she assists her peers in understanding complex ideas, and she comes prepared to share insights about class content which she's studied in depth at home. The positivity and enthusiasm she brings to class consistently every day cannot be matched by many, and her teachers look forward to interactions they have with her to brighten our days.
Miguel Queen, University of Pennsylvania (Top Right):
Miguel Queen is a reserved young man who has "come out of his shell" in the last several months at CMIT. He is honest, hard-working, and a good role model of positive behavior for his peers. He helps those in need whenever he has the opportunity, and his effort on projects and writing tasks is commendable. Miguel should be accoladed for his consistency and determination.

Final Science Project
|
Hello,
My biology and chemistry students will be presenting their end of the year science projects this upcoming week. Students will need to select a topic that we learned during the year and show what they learned in a creative presentation. Students may also choose to present on a topic that we did not learn about during the year, but that interests them. The final project is worth 100 points and the rubric has been posted on google classroom. For my Monday biology students, they will present this Monday and Friday. For my Tuesday biology students, they will present this Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Some groups have asked about presenting outside, so I am working on potentially have them present outside. This would most likely just be my honors chemistry students. When they present outside, I plan on having them either present on the field or next to it, so they are as far from road as possible. As always, please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Warm Regards,
Mr. Fleming

Locker Clean Out
|
As the school year comes to an end, we are encouraging students to begin clearing their lockers of unnecessary, miscellaneous items to minimize the amount of materials students are either discarding or carrying home on locker clean out day. This is also a good time for students to begin locating items they need to return to the school and comb through the lost and found for items they may have misplaced during the year.
We will share the locker clean out day with students soon.
Respectfully,
Tammy Colandrea HS Assistant Principal
