Allergy Season Is Upon Us
|
Spring is in the air and so is the pollen. Seasonal allergies can be a nuisance, but they can also be disruptive to students who are suffering with symptoms in class. Allergy symptoms include sneezing, congestion, a runny nose and other bothersome symptoms. Please be mindful that the health room does not have general use medications. If your child needs eye drops, Benadryl, or any other medication for allergy relief, please provide the medication along with a physician signed medication form to the school nurse. The form for prescription and non-prescription medications can be found at http://www.pgcps.org/health-forms/. Additionally, please take note of the following allergy relief tips, which can be found at https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hay-fever/in-depth/seasonal-allergies/art-20048343 . They provide information that may be useful in relief of symptoms in the school setting, as well as home.

Teen Miss Maryland Earth
|
Congratulations to the 2018 Maryland Earth United States titleholder: Agatha Dulce
Teen Miss Maryland - Agatha Dulce
Agatha was born on the beautiful Philippine islands in the Fall of 1999. Currently pursuing a degree in business with a pre-law track at the University of Maryland, Agatha plans to establish her own law firm and become an immigration attorney upon graduating law school. Since the fifth grade, Agatha has held many leadership positions, from SGA Vice-President to Math Team Leader and so much more. She is also a servant leader in her community, volunteering as a tutor for middle school students. Agatha’s focus this year is to spread the ideals of ecopreneurship and instill the virtues of servant leadership into the minds of today’s youth. Ecopreneurship encourages people to seek eco-friendly solutions that will not only benefit their community, but themselves as well. The servant leadership philosophy puts the needs of one’s community and others over one’s own self interests.
Congratulations, Agatha!
