High School Open House
|
Hello, Prospective CMIT Families!
Due to the snow, the December 9th Open House was cancelled and rescheduled for this Saturday, January 6th at 9am in the high school cafeteria. This open house is geared toward families who will be new to CMIT. If you are considering entering your student in the lottery for CMIT North high school, this event is for you. Come and get to know us.

HEY! HEY! HEY! The cheerleaders are excited to announce that you can now purchase the spirit items online. Simply visit www.myschoolbucks.com and select the item you would like to purchase. Once the purchase is complete, see Ms. Adams for your spirit item. All proceeds will go towards purchasing safety equipment for the cheer team, to help prepare for County Championships. Our Cheer Teams have been diligently preparing for their upcoming competition, so let's continue to support them!!! Let's go Tigers!!

What Are Considered Lawful Absences/Tardies for the State of Maryland?
A. Death in the immediate family. Immediate family means a parent or guardian, brother, sister, grandparent, or anyone who has lived regularly in the household of the student. B. Illness of the student. The principal shall require a physician’s certificate from the parent or guardian of a student reported continuously absent for illness. C. Court Summons. D. Hazardous weather conditions. Hazardous weather conditions shall be interpreted to mean weather conditions that would endanger the health or safety of the student when in transit to and from school. E. Work approved or sponsored by the school, the local school system, or the State Department of Education, accepted by the local superintendent of schools or the school principal, or their designees as reason for excusing the students. F. Observance of a religious holiday. G. State emergency. H. Suspension. I. Lack of authorized transportation(does not include Charter Schools). This shall not include students denied authorized transportation for disciplinary reasons. J. Other emergency or set of circumstances which, in the judgment of the superintendent or designee, constitutes a good and sufficient cause for absence from school.
Lawful or legitimate absences require a written explanation from the parent, guardian, or custodian of the student and should be submitted to the designated school authority upon return to school. This written note should include the date of the absence as well as the reason.
What Are Considered Unlawful Absences/Tardies for the State of Maryland?
Unlawful absence or truancy is defined as the act of a student being absent from school for a day or any portion of a day or from an individual class or portion of a class for any reason other than those defined as a lawful absence from school.

Final Home Game For Our Middle School Basketball Teams
|
What an awesome season this has been for our girls and boys basketball teams.
The girls took on other middle schools by storm!! They currently hold a record of 7-1. The boys were determined to keep the Golden Tiger spirit up! They currently hold a record of 6-2.
Both teams would love for everyone to join them at their final home game, where they will take on Imagine at Morningside. This game will take place on January 3rd at the high school gym at 6:00 pm.
We hope to see you there!

This year, the competition will be held at Wise High School, time TBD.
