Teacher Appreciation Week!
|
Dear Parents,
Teacher Appreciation Week is right around the corner - May 1-5! We are collecting monetary donations to make this week a success. If you would like to contribute, please have your student bring the donation to the school in an envelope marked Teacher Appreciation Week and place it in the PTO’s mailbox located in the lobby. If sending a check, please make it payable to CMIT North PTO with “Teacher Appreciation” on the memo line. Also, if you would like to help with the planning or implementation of this special week, please contact Candace Salley at candace.salley@gmail.com. Let’s show our teachers how much we appreciate all of their hard work!!

8th Grade Finance Park Chaperones Needed
|
This year, all 8th grade students will be participating in a financial literacy simulation day at Junior Achievement Finance Park in Landover, MD on June 5th and 6th. In order to help facilitate student learning during the simulation, we will need plenty of volunteers! Volunteers don't have to be financial experts, just adults who have an understanding of budgeting, paying bills, etc. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in volunteering for this experience! Please feel free to send this form to family members, community members, etc. Volunteers can come from anywhere and do not have to be PGCPS fingerprinted to participate. Feel free to contact Ms. Cracovaner at acracovaner@cmitacademy.org with any questions. We look forward to your participation in June! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfiL6fppHxGnESeJrjhSxGBB8B9GatnWsuOppEansGY9b856w/viewform?usp=sf_link

Ms. Cracovaner's Social Studies Updates
|
As the year is winding down, here are a few quick reminders:
7th graders are finishing up a unit on Europe and will be participating in a field trip to Medieval Times to enrich their understanding of the Middle Ages.
8th graders are learning about the Civil War and recently completed a student-centered investigation called Question Formulation Technique, in which they analyzed Stephen Curry's "A Tragic Prelude." They did a great job and came up with some really thought-provoking questions!
Please feel free to contact Ms. Cracovaner with any questions, comments, or concerns at acracovaner@cmitacademy.org
