CMIT North Wins Silver Division Title By Defeating Benjamin Tasker
Benjamin Tasker: 52 runs for 9 wickets (outs) in 15 overs. Phillip Alvarenga 7 runs, Lisa Ramjit 6 runs, Rowan Wilson 5 runs. Alivia Rahl 2 wickets, Rowan Wilson 2 wickets, Robert Nedoluha 1 wicket.
CMIT North: 58 runs for 6 wickets in 13 overs. Chase van der Have 22 runs, Chase Washington 12 runs. Dion Meeks 5 wickets, Chase van der Have 1 wicket.
The key play of the game was when CMIT North's Dion Meeks bowled Robert Nedoluha for a duck (0 runs). Robert is one of the best batsmen in the league. Dion also got Alyssa Logan for a duck. Dion really bowled well to get 5 wickets, which is amazing. Chase Washington's 3 consecutive fours and Chase van der Have 1 four and 3 sixes gave CMIT North an easy victory.
Congrats to the first ever CMIT Cricket team!

MS BREAKING NEWS

Learning about Culture and Students Observing Ramadan.
|
As we are learning about culture throughout the school year. Some of our students and staff are now in the mist of observing Ramadan.
Within the Islamic faith they have 12 months in their calendar and Ramadan is one of those months. In Ramadan all Muslims fast from dusk (approximately an hour before sunrise) to sunset. This year it is June 5 - July 5.
Fasting in Islam is not only restricted to the fast of the stomach, e.g. Not to eat or drink all day but also fasting of the hands from harming other people, fasting of the tongue as not to utter any ill or vain talk. Fasting of the eyes as not to see anything forbidden etc.
Muslims see this as a month of gaining control over them self.
As a school community we are supporting our staff and students by teachers opening up their classrooms to students during lunch for a quite space and to be with other students observing Ramadan.
We are also asking you to remind your scholars that as a school students are not to eat and drink in class ever.
There will also be no in class parties and or treats. (This is also a county rule).
Thank you.

Middle School Art Students Take A Break From Finals By Painting
|
This week as students are taking their finals they are able to relax a bit in the art room. All of the middle schoolers were able participate in a self expression painting exercise during their art class. Playing with paint and other mediums was a fun challenge. They were encouraged to create something that was a represented of themselves; their likes, dislikes, feelings and or interests.
Next week the students will be collecting their artwork created throughout the year and participating in the studio clean up activity as we wrap up this school year. It has been a wonderful time exploring concepts of creativity, different mediums and all kinds of art together!
