CMIT Parents
Dear CMIT South ES Parents, I hope you are doing well and staying safe. As we prepare to end the school year I share with you that it was my great honor to serve you for the past five months. When we moved from school as we knew it, and entered the unexpected COVID-19 phase, you were remarkable! The way you worked with our staff as we all navigated this uncomfortable terrain was admirable. Some of you provided technology information that made us better at what we do. Some of you provided verbal and written encouragement. Most of you were forced to be your child's co-teacher, something for which you didn't sign up for. You are to be applauded! As we move forward, into whatever new reality we may find ourselves, I know you will continue to support CMIT South ES students and staff. Remember, we're all in this together and it will take everyone to ensure CMIT South ES continues in greatness! Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve you. Have a wonderful summer and please stay safe! Yours Professionally, Glenda Washington, Ed.D.

Virtual Summer Learning
Parents, Many of you have submitted your application for virtual summer learning for your CMIT SES students. Before we begin to organize the classes and match the teachers with students, we offer parents one last opportunity to come on board. If you are interested in your current K-4 grade student participating in virtual summer learning, please complete the form. We will close access to the form on Tuesday, June 9th, at 1:00 p.m. If you enroll in Summer Learning at CMIT SES, your child will be expected to attend daily and participate. This means attending the classes and engaging with the teachers and classmates. Failure to do so may result in your child being dismissed from the program. The program will begin Monday, July 6th, and end Thursday, July 31st. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sessions will be 90 minutes each. (A.M. Session; 9:30 a.m. -- 11:00 a.m. and P.M. Session; 11:30 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m.) Our aim is to strengthen students' skills in targeted areas and focused standards over a four week period. Math and Reading will be our focus subjects in all grades with 4th grade receiving some additional attention in Science. Again, we look forward to seeing our students during this learning period. We will close the application form Tuesday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. After this time, accepted students will be contacted by Thursday, July 2nd with final details. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1sE31lHdR7h7wWue1_wry_JPBhIsDgbdzj4kRxDeFJKA/edit" style="color: rgb(17, 111, 191); text-decoration-line: underline; outline: 0px;">https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1sE31lHdR7h7wWue1_wry_JPBhIsDgbdzj4kRxDeFJKA/edit Thank you.

Medication Return - From The Nurse
Good Morning CMIT South ES Parents, This message only pertains to parents whose students were administered medicine by the school nurse. On Monday, June 8th, if your child has medication at the school, you will be contacted and given a Wednesday, June 9th medicine pick-up time. Please adhere strictly with the appointment time you are given. You will be given further details when you are given your appointment. Upon your arrival at the school, you are to remain in your vehicle at all times. Neither you nor your student will be allowed into the building for any reason. This is not an opportunity to pick up items your child may have left in the classroom. You may have an opportunity to do that at a later date, once the State of Maryland has opened up more fully. Again, this message is only for parents whose children left medicine in the building and would like to retrieve it. You will not be allowed in the building. Please wear a mask! Thank you!
