PE distance learning review
Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope everyone is managing all their classes well through distance learning. Regarding PE, some discussion questions will be turned in and the activity log and food logs will soon be funneled into an assignment once enough data is collected. Please make sure that you are keeping up with uploading your data into the logs. Participation is the largest grade, but to get full credit you must answer the discussion question in its entirety. A few words for the answer without an explanation are getting docked points for lack of explanation. Things have been going great with all the comments during the discussion questions. Please look for my replies back as they may pertain to your comment and if it needs more explaining. Stay safe and healthy !! Don't forget about mental health, keep trying to meditate. Its been helping me.

Kindergarten Spirit Week
This week Kindergarten celebrated our Virtual Spirit Week. Students started out the week dressing up as their favorite super hero. Students sent in Tic Tok videos for Tic Tok Tuesday. Students showed their favorite exercises for Work out Wednesday. Students shared what they were thankful for on Thankful Thursday. Friday, students will celebrate friendship day by reaching out to a friend. It has been a fun week getting to know our students better. We look forward to learning more about our students each week.

Calling all readers and writers!!!
Parents/Guardians. We are writing to ask for your support in our scholars' weekly reading and writing. Please encourage and support their efforts to write about what they are reading and learning. After they watch the videos and listened to the learning, challenge them to write completed responses about any topic from any of the subject areas. For instance, after watching a video on how to subtract, a student may write about how they learned the concept, was it easy, was it a challenge, did they get extra help, etc. Writing also provides a trigger that pushes a student to begin thinking. Now, they will have to think/focus on what they want to write about, and how best to say so that it has meaning. Encouraging students to write about their learning experiences will help support the memorization of concepts, build vocabulary, spelling skills, fluency, and comprehension. So we need your help. They should write in complete sentences as well and reread their comments before hitting 'post'. We will read these as they come in. Kudos to the students who are already writing comments in Google Classroom. Please be reminded that their expressions should be positive and it should be about their learning. Thank you for staying on this journey. Sincerely, Mrs. Watkis
