Staff Appreciation
We Celebrate our Tech-Savvy Tigers! We enjoyed celebrating our CMIT SES staff this week! We saluted our heroes, for their dedication and hard work. They constantly amazed us with their abilities to be flexible, transparent, and ready learners. We know they will continue to be Determined, Tech-Savvy Tigers! Also, we thank our parent partners, aka partner teachers for their show of appreciation to CMIT SES staff. Ms. Watkis & Dr. Washington

PE distance learning review
Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope everyone is able to keep up with the CARTS classes as the schedule is stated. This week, after doing some mindful meditating last week, are moving onto relaxing the body with yogic exercises. I wanted to give the students avenues to calm themselves down when needed while still touching on mental and physical health and well-being. I'm hoping that these activities will be done during their own time not just during class time. Most classes have activity logs to continue with while 1st grade still has their food log of one meal a day. Stay safe and healthy as we close out the school year with distance learning.

4th Grade
Parents, As announced yesterday by the State Superintendent of Education, Dr. Karen Salmon, Maryland schools will remain closed for the duration of the 2019-2020 school year. With this in mind, CMIT South and the fourth grade team are working hard to continue to provide the greatest educational experience possible. Feel free to contact us if needed with any questions or concerns. We also want to take time to say THANK YOU! You have managed to juggle work, parenting, cooking, cleaning, along with the many other hats you wear daily while taking on the new role of teaching at home. We know this time of quarantine has not been easy, but you all have handled this transition with grace. We appreciate your partnership in distance learning. So again, we wish the 4th grade parents a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Take a break, a breath, a rest, or a moment to celebrate yourself for all of your hard work.

Kindergarten Rocks!
We have the best families. I want to thank everyone who is working so hard away from home and at home. Many of our families are looking for ways to connect and continue growing. Next week we will celebrate with our Kindergarten Virtual Spirit Week. We are going to have so much fun. Be on the look out for some great pictures of our students. We also have had many families make pictures, send special messages and special songs to their teachers thanking them for all their hard work. We could not do it without the families support. We love you all!!!! Lastly...I wanted to showcase some of our amazing work our students have been doing. Some classes have started a weekly STEM Challenge from nursery rhymes. Students have to plan and design what they want to create. They had to draw and design a brick garage for the three little pigs. They are very creative. I can not wait to see what they come up with next week. Have a great week. Thank you for all the hard work you all have been doing. We miss you!!!!
