Principal Corner
Greetings CMIT South ES Family! I want to share how wonderful it was to see so many in attendance at our last PTO meeting. I hope you benefited from the information shared. Also, Kudos to the parents of scholars who received awards and recognition for their hard work. We hope to have more students recognized next quarter.

Classroom Observations
Parents or Guardians must arrange classroom visits with the grade level administrator and/or the principal with at least 24 hours notice (excluding weekends and holiday). Parents or Guardians may request to visit their child's classroom(s) once per quarter *(4 times annually) with no explanation or reason. After the quarterly visits are exhausted, a parent may request additional visits directly with the principal, but these visits will be at the discretion of the principal (AP 0500). Multiple classes may be observed throughout the day of the scheduled visit. No interaction with students or teachers may take place during classroom observations. Visitors are expected to observe quietly, so that it does not interfere with classroom instruction. You may email questions and/or concerns to the teacher following the visit. Thank you.

Celebrating Our Success!
Congratulations once again to the students who received awards today, we are very proud of you and encourage you to keep up the good work. Ms. Cunningham and I have been discussing appropriate school behavior with our scholars. Please remind your scholar to come to school each day and be great on purpose. Come to school ready to learn, react with kindness to their peers, respect the adults in the building, and most importantly follow the rules of the school. Students should wear their uniform everyday, and come to school with the materials that they need for learning. Also, please remind your scholar that fighting, hitting, and bullying will not be tolerated, and they will be referred to administration. Ms. Cunningham and I are trying to establish a classroom environment in which students feel safe learning, and we feel safe teaching. Next week in learning: Reading: Students will analyze informational text. Social Studies: Students will continue learning about the contributions of Black Americans to our nation. Math: Students will continue learning multiplication and division. Science: Students will continue to discuss the life cycle of living things. Upcoming Dates: Monday, February 17 No school President's Day Friday, February 29 Black History Projects Due

Kindergarten
Happy Friday! What a wonderful way to start the month of February. Our students celebrated the 100th day of learning last Friday. They came up with very creative ways to show their learning. Students are also learning about some of our country's influential, African Americans that have help change our country. Their eyes light up when we discuss helping others and standing up for what is right. They are learning vocabulary including equality and fairness. Students are continuing to work with subtraction. They are doing subtraction stories and learning different strategies to help them. Today we will celebrate our Day of Kindness. Students are very excited to share with other students and show kindness. This is a great way for students to show kindness to everyone in the classroom. Thank you again for all the support you have given to the Kindergarten Teachers and students.
