Attendance at Back to School Night
Dear Parents/Guardians, Thank you for your attendance at Back to School Night. Your attendance signals the beginning of your support as we work to prepare our students to make educated decisions in the years ahead. Our students are very important to us, and we value what we do here at CMIT Elementary South. Student achievement requires all stakeholders to work responsibly in planning and implementing best practices to ensure that our children can learn. Your children are our scholars, and we take pride in educating and preparing them for college and career. Your concerns are my concerns. Please inform me of how we can work towards resolving the challenges which undoubtedly we may encounter. When we work as a team, we are able to identify solutions, create action plans, and solve even the biggest challenge. Thank you for your support as work towards a very successful school year.

Ms. Madison's Class!
Room 162 is getting into the swing of things! This week we have introduced the following content to students: RELA - We have started learning about sentence structure, writing fundamentals, and letter sounds, as well as retelling stories using key details. Math - We are currently reviewing addition and subtraction with numbers up to 20, and we have started learning about base-ten place value with two-digit numbers. Science - We are learning about what it means to be a scientist! Key questions include the following: What do scientists do? What tools do scientists use? Social Studies - We are introducing rules and responsibilities as an introduction to communities and civics! In addition, we have started presenting our All About Me projects! Next week we will officially begin Classroom Jobs and continue our lessons from this week and start our RELA and Math rotations! Students were introduced to their groups and a few of the stations this week. Have a wonderful weekend!

P.E. Weekly roundup !
Dear Parents and Guardians, As we all are getting settled into our schedules and routines, the students in P.E. class for week two were reviewing the most important expectations/rules and reminded of gym procedures. We played a group activity that was focused on showing respect to others while they talk while also getting to know the names and some fun facts about fellow class mates and a few about their teacher, Mr. Loomer ! Please look for more information about my Sports Mix club for grades 3-5 in upcoming newsletters as I should be hearing back if it is approved to move forward.

Week of September 9
Greetings Parents, Students have been given access to their online pgcps accounts. They have their unique emails and passwords. They know their own passwords. For security purposes I cannot write them down but if they forget I can show them what it is. I will work with students so that they may have all access to all my online resources. I will list them here and starting on Monday, students will receive homework for their applications as well as classwork. The math resources are: Xtramath Khan Academy cK-12 Also, please have students bring their own dedicated headphones for class tomorrow and to keep here at school. If they can't come in with them tomorrow, I understand but if you can bring them as soon as possible it would be much appreciated. Lastly, Look out for graded work and a PTO contact information sheet tomorrow to go home with students. Thanks for all you do.
