Greetings CMIT South Elementary School Community, It has been a great pleasure to serve this school community with you for the past year. I have decided to accept another opportunity and will no longer be a part of the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy team effective August 8, 2019. I wish all of you the best and much success in the upcoming school year. I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to thank the teachers and parents for their hard work and continuous support over this past year. I know that you will continue to live the mission and vision of the school by ensuring the students enrolled are receiving all that you are able to provide. The Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundationwill begin an active search for my replacement. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE ROADSHOW on August 10, 2019... Tiger Uniform Exchange 1:30pm-2:00pm CMIT South ES Families will have the opportunity to purchase these uniforms items for approximately 30% of the original price. All proceeds will be added to the PTO Operating Budget.

Since we do not have school buses and everyone is in charge of their child's transportation, PikMyKid, is an application used to announce yourself when you arrive at school to pick up your child in the car line. Pick and drop off take place in the back of the school building. Please download the PikMyKid application to your mobile device using the attached instructions.

If you have registered your child with CMIT SOUTH ES for the upcoming school year and have decided that he/she will not be able to attend; please submit an email to secretary@cmitsouthes.org as soon as you make the decision. This year the physical education uniform will be required for all grade levels. Students will be required to purchase a gray t-shirt with the school logo. However, the shorts or sweatpants can be blue or black with no pockets can be purchased anywhere and are not required to have the logo.

Welcome new families and hello returning families to the new school year! I am sure this year is going to be an exciting and wonderful time of learning for our students. I am Shelia Whiting, and I am the Cluster Supervisor for Enrichment at both the South location's Elementary and Middle/High Schools. We are gearing up for improved services by planning program activities that are kinesthetic, tactile, engaging and fun. I will email families enrolled in the program a meeting date to be determined where we will provide them with program information, updates and a time for questions and answers. The meeting will happen in the month of September, so, please look out for an email. I look forward to seeing everyone soon and please enjoy the rest of the summer season!
