Happy Friday! I want to thank you all for the support and love I felt for teachers appreciation week! The gifts and notes touched my heart and it is my complete pleasure to teach your children! This week in Science we started in Unit 2 and will continue for the next week or so. Today the students had their own "Airshow" (inspiration from the airshow that happened on the Air Force base today) and learned how airplanes are made and then learned how to fold their own airplanes! Next week in Math we will continue our Geometry unit by discussing coordinate plans. Grades are currently up to date for progress reports next week, as always if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. Upcoming! Promotion - June 6, 2019 6 - 7:30p Students need to report to the CMIT Middle High School at @5 p Middle High Colors: royal blue + white specifics regarding style guide will from Ms. Davis Students will have access to 6 tickets witch will be able to be picked up from the Elementary school - further directions will follow. Hello awesome tiger supporters! I wanted to take a minute to thank all of our parents and volunteers who helped out with Teacher Appreciation Week and those of you who purchased or made gifts for your teachers. This year has been an amazing way to begin my career and I couldn't have asked for a better parent body to have partnered with! Thank you for all that you have done to make me and the other teachers feel appreciated and for all that you do to support us on a daily basis both at home and at school!

Hi Parents, The past two weeks in Makers' Lab have been about microbes. Students worked hard to follow procedures and build Mudwatt's to produce electricity from mud! Also, they have sampled different areas in the lab for bacteria to test the effectiveness of disinfectant wipes. We have been working on the butterfly garden after school, thanks to all parents who have brought in plants and materials! 1st Grade appreciates you - we have been hard at work and having fun this week! For ELA, we have continued to practice retelling key details in fiction and nonfiction, while in science we have continued to learn about animal parents and their offspring! For math, we have introduced Unit 8, which includes vocabulary terms commonly seen in math (i.e. tens and ones) and in social studies, we are continuing our unit on economics! The 1st Grade team would also like to thank our students, parents, administrators, and CLF for the wonderful gifts and cards that we have received for Teacher Appreciation Week! Last, but certainly not least, we would like to give a huge thank you to the PTO for all of the events organized this week - our breakfast, lunch, snack bar, and our relaxing massages! We truly felt appreciated this week and it makes us want to work even harder! Have a wonderful weekend!

First off, I would like to say thank you to every parent and student who has been extra supportive for the first Teacher Appreciation Week in CMIT South history! You all have truly made it special for all of us. For those in Band Club, next week will be the last day. To celebrate everything we've accomplished this year, we will be throwing a party. Feel free to bring snacks. Thank you for a great year! Lastly, in 2-5 we have been learning about country music (inspired by the current Old Town Road craze). We've learned about country legend Charley Pride as well as some historic facts on the origins of country music. This week, we have learned how dancing and music relate through learning a basic country line dance. Parents, feel free to turn on some country music at home and see what we've been working on!

I would like to thank everyone who made Teachers Appreciation Week such a wonderful experience. Thank you PTO for organizing an amazing week of activities and treats. Thank you to all the students who have been so thoughtful and sweet. Thank you CLF for supporting and funding the events this week. As a first year teacher, I can easily say that this was a wonderful experience that I will always remember. ART CLUB NEWS: Parents who have children in the art club, this is a reminder that May 13th will be our very last art club meeting. Please feel free to send your child to school with snacks to celebrate our time together this year! Thank you for you child's involvement in the Art Club!
