Holiday Cheer!
|
Parents/Guardians,
Holiday cheer to you and your families. We appreciate the support that you have shown each day.
Whether it includes
-taking students to school and on time,
-visiting classrooms to decorate,
-going on field trips,
-and just staying engaged with the PTO.
I applaud you for your consistency and commitment to all these tasks.
May this holiday season bring you cheer.
Read great books to your children and ask what have you learned this past year, what do you still need to learn.
Let the conversation go deeper this season.
Stay warm and safe.
Respectfully,
Ms. Watkis

Happy Holidays Tiger Family,
Winter Break is here! We hope you all enjoy the time with your family and your time is filled with joy and love. As always, we ask parents to review and sign agenda books nightly and review updates in SchoolMax weekly. We want you all to stay informed regarding your Tiger’s performance and SchoolMax is the most accurate and efficient way to do so.
Sections 41 & 42:
Reading: This week we got to practice our reading skills by completing winter activities. Students got a chance to read a story of their choice and find the narrative elements, discuss the character traits of “The Grinch,” and create their own original story. During Winter Break students have a Reading project to complete. They have to read at least 10 times for at least 15 minutes. They can use one of the activities provided while reading or come up with their own. Students should have added two marshmallows to their cup by now. When we return to school we will go back into our unit on Adaptations. We will begin reading an informational text about animal mimicry. We will work on the skills of close reading, monitor inner conversations, cause and effect, and vocabulary.
Math: This week’s instruction progressed to discovering and practicing the use of arrays and models to solve 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication. We are halfway through Topic 4 and will begin the new year with a review and moving on to utilizing area models as well as partial products when multiplying 2-digits numbers.
Science:. STEM Research Papers are due by Friday January 6, 2023. Mrs. Crusoe posted in the Reading Canvas class the outline that students should follow. Please have your student share the paper with Mrs. Crusoe by the due date. STEM Fair Projects are to Mrs. Jones by Monday January 9, 2023 in Canvas
Social Studies: This week we brought a close to Chapter 2 Americans and their history. During this chapter students explored important events from U.S. History and the people who are involved. We have utilize BrainPop and our textbooks to explore these events and people. When we return students will pick a historical figure to do a presentation. They will gather information about that person and become the historical figure.
