2nd Grade Updates
|
It's hard to believe, but we're already halfway finished with this school year! Students are working hard to achieve their goals and grow each and every day!
In Social Studies, we are continuing our celebration of black history month across subjects with cross-curricular lessons and activities that are focused on prominent individuals within the African American Community
In Science, we will be wrapping up changes to the earth's surface in the next week or so. Students should know all about natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, and floods as well as the slower earth-changing processes such as erosion and weathering.
In Math, we are finishing up with time and moving along into subtraction within 100. Our essential question is either, "How can I tell time to the nearest 5 minutes" or "How can I use strategies to find the difference between two numbers?"
In Reading, we will be getting back on the curriculum this week with Unit 3, week 4. The essential question for the week is "How does weather affect us?" We will be reading stories about how different weather affects different people and how they have adapted to deal with the weather.

3rd Grade Updates!
|
Hi everyone! We hope all our virtual students from Mrs. Mathews' class had an amazing first week back in the building!
We are now in our third quarter! Let's make sure we continue to check Canvas daily so we can keep up with all of our work for the third quarter!
This upcoming week, we are starting a new month! We are now entering February which is also Black History Month! We will be learning about different influential people throughout the month and discussing the importance of Black History.
We will also be taking our winter term of the MAP assessments this week so students should be prepared to be on time for school on those days.
Please use our Google Site as it has many helpful resources for you all! There is a weekly assignment breakdown that can help parents keep up with students' assignments, a grade level newsletter, and many other important resources. Here's the link to our google site:
