Town Hall on Reopening
Greeting Tiger Family, On Tuesday March 23, 2021 at 6pm we will have our second Town Hall regarding reopening at Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Elementary. Please join us via Zoom to review all of our updates, expectations, and safety procedures as we prepare to welcome students back starting on April 8, 2021. Also join us in our monthly PBIS celebration on Friday March 26, 2021 at 1:10pm as we celebrate our students of the month, birthdays, school wide initiatives and celebrate our successes. The Zoom credentials will be emailed on Monday evening to our school community for both events. Finally, a huge thank you to our PTO for the amazing job they did in welcoming staff back to the building with a warm welcome yard sign and stocking the staff lounges with goodies and beverages to keep our teachers fueled up and ready to support our students. Also thank you to the Buckner family for providing lunch for the staff this week. We truly have the best parents and school community.

2nd Grade Updates!
Hello everyone, from the 2nd grade team! We hope you all had a great week this week! Students are continuing to learn a lot in each subject as we get into the end of the 3rd quarter! In Reading, students are reading about day time and nighttime as well as reading biographies for Women's History Month! We're also learning about verbs and we are working on our long vowels. In Social Studies, students are reading chapter 3 from our social studies books about maps and locations around the world! "We are also working on our Countries Around the World" project! In Math, students are learning about word problems, and in science, students are learning about properties of matter! The third quarter is quickly coming to an end so make sure students are turning in ALL assignments on Google Classroom! Make sure to be logging in minutes of reading to the READ-A-THON website this month! If you need any information on READ-A-THON, please send your teacher a message. March is also National Reading Month, so make sure students are reading as much as possible at home! If anyone has any questions about the school reopening plans, make sure to write them on the 2nd grade parents questions sheet! Thank you, and we are looking forward to another great week of school next week!! One more week until Spring Break! From your 2nd Grade Team! :)
