Kindergarten News
|
Hello Kindergarten Families,
Our kindergarten scholars were so excited to go shopping at the holiday shop last week. They learned all about the value of a dollar. Learning about subtraction in math last week paid off. They had to count how much money they would have left after choosing an item, and that helped them to figure out what they could buy with the remainder of their money. It was a great lesson and they were able to choose what they wanted to buy.
Please check the weather daily so your scholar is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. We have seen some scholars come to school without a sweater or a coat. Please make sure that you are reading any messages via dojo, class story, or emails pertaining to your scholar's class or any events happening at the school.
We will not have any homework assigned for this week. Please use the additional time to work on your scholar's Stem Fair project.
*Communication: Teacher’s will continue to reach out to families via dojo, email, or by phone, to touch base and give you feedback on how your scholar is doing in class. Our goal is to reach out to 1-3 students per week. Please be patient and understanding for the feedback from your scholar's teachers, as we have 23-25 scholars per class. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your scholar’s teacher.
If your scholar participates in any club, please remember the days that your scholar is in a club. If they are usually a car or van rider, they will not be at their regular scheduled dismissal area. If for some reason they are not going to club that day, please notify your scholar’s teacher ahead of time, so they can be at the correct dismissal location.
This week we will have fun crafts and winter activities, as we prepare to head into our winter break. If your scholar's teacher is planning a special craft, or watching a movie, and anything that has to do with food items, there will be a permission slip that will be sent home and you must sign it in order for your scholar to participate. Please make sure that you check your scholar's take home folders, messages in dojo, and also emails from your scholar's teacher.
Friendly reminder: ClassDojo is one of our main forms of communication for any classroom activities, events, and messages. Please make sure that you are connected to your scholar's ClassDojo. Teacher emails and the communication folder are other ways to stay connected as well.

Ms. Tate: krenaudtate@cmitelementary.org
Ms. Major: jmajor@cmitelementary.org
Ms. Echols: eechols@cmitelementary.org
Ms. Thornton: athornton@cmitelementary.org
Please provide a nut free snack for your scholar daily.
Your scholar should have a full set of extra change of clothes (uniform) that can be kept in their cubbies.
Please label all of your scholar's items, sweaters, jackets, water bottles, and lunch bags.
If your scholar's form of transportation changes for dismissal, please complete the necessary forms and notify your scholars’ teacher.
Thank you
