My name is Reeshemah Gray. I am a Paraprofessional educator and I have worked at CMIT since last school year. I am also a graduate of Montgomery College. My Name is Latoya Robinson and I am a Paraprofessional educator here at CMIT North Elementary. I have been a part of CMIT since last school year. I've been working in this field for over 21 years. Meet the Teachers
Our team is Ready and Roaring to meet our new kindergarten scholars and their families. We know that communication is one of the key elements in starting on this educational journey for everyone. Please make sure that you are connected to your scholars’ class dojo along with your scholar's teacher’s email. These are the best forms of communication between ourselves and your families. We are also implementing a communication folder that will go to and from school with your scholar on a daily basis. We are excited and looking forward to meeting your scholars. If you have any questions, please feel free to send a message to your child's teacher. Ms. Major: This is my second year teaching at CMIT,;however, I have taught Pre-K for the past 6 years in PGCPS. I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. My oldest daughter completed her Master’s at Walden University. My other daughter is a sophomore at Towson University and my son is a recent graduate of CMIT high school and now is a freshman at the University of Maryland. I look forward to an amazing school year with your scholars. Mrs. Tate. This is my first year teaching at CMIT, before coming to PG county, I taught in DC for twelve years. I have taught preschool, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and third grade. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. and moved to the DMV to attend Howard University. I volunteered for AmeriCorps Jumpstart while attending Howard University, upon graduating I began teaching in Washington, DC. I completed my Masters in Early Childhood Education at George Mason University. Ms. Thornton: This is my fourth year teaching Kindergarten at CMIT. I am originally from Rhode Island (the smallest state in the country), and I moved to Maryland in 1996; however, I still have a very strong northern accent that I have learned to accept. I have one daughter named Carina, she is in her last year of college studying nursing. I started working in the education field right out of high school, while attending college. I have my BA degree in IDS: Early Childhood Education; with a minor in Communication and Behavior Studies. I have been teaching for 30+years, and I really enjoy seeing the progress in each scholar as they learn throughout the years. Ms. Echols: This is my fourth year teaching kindergarten at CMIT Elementary. I have an Associates in Early Childhood Education and I graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with a Bachelors in Sociology. I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at Towson University to obtain a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I am excited for another year teaching our scholars!

Welcome to First Grade!
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! We are all so excited to greet our students this school year. During the first two weeks of school, we will be practicing school-wide procedures and setting clear expectation for students. We look forward to meeting and working with each of you this school year. Meet the first grade team: Ms. Lewis: Welcome back Tigers! I am a proud alumna of Howard University and a graduate of Prince George's County Schools. This school year will be my ninth year as an educator and fourth year at CMIT Elementary. I enjoy traveling, shopping, reading, listening to music, and cooking in my spare time. I am looking forward to teaching an amazing first grade class this school year! Ms. Hutchins: This will be my nineteenth year teaching and my eighth year at CMIT Elementary School. I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University and went on to get my Masters in Administration at McDaniel College. I enjoy reading and taking care of my family in my spare time. I love teaching first grade and look forward to a great school year. Ms. Cannon: I grew up in Prince George's county, Maryland and currently live in Laurel, Maryland. I am beginning my second year at CMIT North Elementary school. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from the University of District of Columbia. I love teaching elementary students. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I am very excited for the school year and to be a part of the CMIT growing family. Mr. Brillantes: This is my seventh school year in CMIT - Elementary. I’ve been teaching first grade for 6 years now and I enjoy it a lot. I finished the requirements for my Masters and am currently applying for graduation. I like to exercise everyday and play basketball every week. I love to read non-fiction books. Also, I am an extreme sport hobbyist.

We would like to welcome everyone to another amazing year here at CMIT! We look forward to having an excellent year with all of you. Below you will find a quick introduction from each of the second-grade teachers. My name is Mr. Trippe. I am one of the Second Grade teachers here at CMIT Elementary School. I have lived in Maryland my whole life and love it here. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Science and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am very excited to be back at CMIT for my ninth year and to see what this school year has in store. My name is Ms. Grant. I was born and raised in Washington, DC and even went to college at the University of the District of Columbia. While at UDC, I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthology before attaining my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my first year at Chesapeake Math and IT Academy and I am so excited to be here. Hi, I'm Ms. Barton and I am excited to work with you this year. This is my fifth year teaching at CMIT and my first year with 2nd grade. Prior to coming to CMIT, I worked in Southeast, DC for 5 years in an early childhood program. I have also been fortunate enough to work for four years in Tennessee with middle school and high school students. I grew up in Montgomery County and attended both Montgomery College and the University of Maryland. I graduated with my B.S. in Elementary Education with and emphasis in Science. I am a firm believer that children should be introduced to the sciences early and am looking forward to many fun science lessons through out the year. (Hint, we may have some baby chicks at some point this year). Your scholars are not alone in starting a new adventure in kindergarten, as I am starting Graduate school on Monday. I am excited to be getting my M.S. in Natural Sciences and Environmental Education. My Name is Mrs. Glasper and I am excited to be your child’s teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Prairie View A&M University. This is my fifth year as a second-grade teacher here at CMIT. Before I started my teaching profession, I was the director of Glasper Family Childcare for twelve years. Teaching and the development of young children have been two of my passions. My goal as an educator is to promote active learning among students in every aspect of their lives. Lastly, I am proud to say that I'm a published author of my first children's book. Reminders: School starts on Monday! Field Trips are back!! We will be getting underway pretty quickly so be on the lookout for messages from your child's teacher if you are interested in being a chaperone. Make sure you have completed all necessary steps in order to be a chaperone.

Welcome Back Third Grade!
The third grade team would like to welcome our scholars to a new school year! We are extremely excited to welcome them back in the building, and looking forward to a lot of learning and growth. Let's meet our third grade team: Mrs. Richardson: Welcome back! This is Mrs. Richardson and this will be my nineth year teaching at CMIT. I taught first grade for 6 years and this will be my second year teaching third grade Math, Science, and Health! I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education from Notre Dame of Maryland University. I graduated in May 2019 with my Master's degree in Administration and Supervision, also from Notre Dame of Maryland University. I enjoy spending time with her family, reading, scrapbooking, shopping, and baking. I am looking forward to a great school year! Mrs. West: Hello! I’m Mrs. West. This is my 3rd year at CMIT, and most of you might remember me from Kindergarten. I am a married mother of 4 (5 if you include my fur baby) and I have been in education for 19 years. I love and enjoy helping grow young minds. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family/friends and shopping. I’m looking forward to a fun-filled year! Ms. Kelley: Hello Everyone, My name is Jazzminn Kelley; I am a third grade Reading/ Social Studies teacher. I have been teaching at CMIT elementary for four years now. I am currently finishing up courses at Grand Canyon University to earn my Masters in Elementary Education. I enjoy reading, watching my favorite TV shows, and spending time with family and friends. I am super excited about teaching third grade this year, I can’t wait to work with our scholars! Mr. Chang: Hi, I’m Mr. Chang. I had the privilege of teaching 2nd grade last year, so hopefully some of these incoming 3rd graders remember me! This year I will be teaching Math, Science, and Health. This will be my third year teaching at CMIT. I’m currently working on my Master's in STEM education at UMBC. I play ultimate frisbee, spend too much time indoor rock climbing, and play guitar for my church. Let’s work together to have an awesome school year! Mrs. Lambert: Hi there! I’m Mrs. Lambert; but, some of you may remember me as Ms. Stollof. Over summer break, I got married and now have a new last name! This will be my fifth year teaching at CMIT and my first year teaching 3rd grade Reading and Social Studies. I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education from Stevenson University. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, catching up on my favorite shows, and bowling. I am looking forward to working with you all this year!

Welcome to Fourth Grade!!
The 4th Grade Team would like to welcome you and your scholar to the 2022-2023 school year. We are really excited to meet your scholar. We are looking forward to the amazing work your scholar will be producing and the lasting memories we will be creating together. The one thing that we would like for you to remember is that we are all better when we work together. As a team, we can accomplish anything. With your continuous support we know that we will have an awesome year! Let's meet the fourth grade team! Ms. Daniel (Reading & Social Studies/ Team Lead) Ms. Daniel is going into her 12th year of teaching. She received her Bachelor's degree from Long Island University- Brooklyn Campus in Childhood Education and her Master's in Curriculum & Instruction:Reading from Concordia University-Portland. She is passionate about teaching reading and the many different places and experiences books can take you. When she is not grading papers, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, & shopping. She is looking forward to an awesome school year and can’t wait to begin this new journey with her scholars. Mrs. Cooper (Reading & Social Studies) Mrs. Cooper is super excited to welcome you and your 4th grade scholar to the start of the new school year! She and her scholars are going to have a busy, fun, and productive year, filled with exciting learning activities, social events and so much more! This is her 5th year teaching and second year teaching 4th grade at CMIT. She loves teaching reading, writing, and social studies. She also enjoys singing, dancing, and being outside in nature. She lives in Columbia MD with her husband, her cat Zoey, and their soon to be daughter coming in October! Mr. Williams (Math & Science) This is his 4th year at CMIT Elementary North and his 13th year teaching. He has taught 4th grade for 9 years and middle school Math for 4 years. He is a Google Certified Educator and the Engagement and Technology Lead here at CMIT. He loves all things Math and Science and looks forward to getting his students to feel the same way! Mrs. Terrell (Math & Science) Mrs. Terrell is excited to welcome a new class of scholars into her learning environment, where they will focus on hands-on experiences and developing passion for Math and Science. Mrs. Terrell received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Alabama State University. She gained her Master’s from the University of Phoenix in Educational Leadership, Specializing in Adult Education. Mrs. Terrell went on to complete her Education Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership from Capella University. This is her 24th year in the field of Education. RELA & Social Studies Instructors: Scholars! My name is Bianca Tellis, M.Ed., and I am extremely honored to be your Language Arts and Social Studies instructor! This year is going to be adventurous, fun, and full of opportunity for growth! We will have lots of fun together as a team. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and I connected with the CMIT team during the 2021/2022 school year. I obtained my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Leadership from Concordia University Portland and I am now in my Doctoral studies at Concordia University Chicago studying Organizational Leadership in Education. I am elated to learn with your scholar! The adventure awaits! I am Mrs. Moon. This is my fifth year teaching and my sixth year at CMIT! I have a passion for reading and helping others succeed. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University Maryland. I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, focusing in Adolescent Literacy from Concordia University Portland. My favorite colors are teal and purple and my favorite drink is Dr. Pepper. I love Disney and Musicals! Math & Science Instructors: My name is Mrs. Linton-Philp. I teach 5th grade Math, Science, and Health. I have been teaching for more than 10 years. I earned my B.A. Degree in Elementary Education at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, and my Master’s Degree is in Math and Science from Walden University. Meet Your Special Education Team!
Hello Tigers and Families!!! Welcome back to CMIT for another FABULOUS school year! Please take some time to get to know Ms. McVeigh, Mr. Wright AND Mrs. Williams!! Ms. McVeigh begins her 6th year of teaching and 5th year as the Special Education Department Chair at CMIT Elementary School. She earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pennsylvania. During her undergrad, Ms. McVeigh was able to do her student teaching semester in Burke County, North Carolina. She worked in a 1st grade classroom as well as a Resource Special Education Teacher for students in grades Kindergarten- 5th. Ms. McVeigh is a PG County native and a graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. She knew from the young age of 7 that her passion in life was to become a teacher. She is thrilled to continue with her passion of teaching as she embarks on another wonderful year here at CMIT! Keep ROARing Tigers! ~Ms. McVeigh Mr. Wright is a fifth year teacher at CMIT North Elementary School. It gives him a great sense of joy to follow his passion in the field of education and to make a difference in the lives of his students. CMIT is a school that is steadily growing in number and reputation and he is happy to be a part of that journey. Working in the Special Education department as a resource teacher, he is excited to provide interactive and engaging lessons to develop students' academic abilities on all levels. Most importantly, being able to see students succeed is what is most rewarding in this great task of being a teacher. Finally, outside of school he enjoys community engagement activities such as coaching football, which he has been doing for over 10 years. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and trying new recipes with my three-year old son who also loves to cook.
