Goodbye MCAP testing! A big shout out and thank you goes out to you, parents. Thank you so much for the continued support. We made it through, and students worked very hard to push through and showed resilience! Welcome to the fourth week of May! In Math, students will begin Topic 14: Units of Time. In Science, students will have the Topic 5: Life Cycles and Traits review. The Topic 5 assessment will be on Wednesday, 5/25. In Health, students will continue learning about empathy. In Oral/Reading, students will continue learning about informational text. For writing, they will create Haikus on the topic of spring. In Social Studies, students will begin Chapter 7 Lesson 1: What Makes a Community? & Lesson 2: Three Types of Communities. The quiz for Social Studies will be on Thursday, 5/26.
Please make sure students press the "turn in" button when turning in their work. They must hit the buttton in SAVVAS AND in Google Classroom. Please note that we follow the grading policy from PGCPS. Please look over the policy. Students are required to fill out the make-up form BEFORE attempting to redo the assignment (located in Google Classroom). Also, teachers have to approve the make-up work form before the student completes the assignment because not all assignments are eligible for resubmission. Please express to your scholar the importance of turning in their own work on time. If they have not attempted to complete the assignment and it is late, it will not be accepted, per the PGCPS Grading Policy. Parents will have until Wednesday to request a redo of an assignment. Resubmissions must be submitted by the following Sunday. If an assignment is not eligible for a redo, teachers will put "not eligible for redo" in the assignment description.
ClassDojo is our main form of communication. Please join your scholar’s homeroom teacher’s Class Dojo. Please check ClassDojo for any updates and new information to be shared. Lastly, please be sure to check SchoolMax for all graded assignments. Have a great week!
