Congrats, We Made It Through MAP
|
Quarter 3 is in full swing. Congratulations on finishing another round of MAP testing.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: On Tuesday, Feb. 16th there will be a 2hr delay for students in order for teachers to meet with parents. Due to limited time, teachers will be meeting with select parents. Your scholar's teacher will have reached out to you if they would like to meet with you during this time. If your scholar's teacher did not reach out to you and you would like to meet with them, let them know you would like to meet, and schedule a meeting.
Black History Month: If you would like to volunteer to read a story to your scholar's class this month please reach out to Ms. Ritchie-Green. She is still looking for volunteers to do read a loud's for the classrooms.
CLF is asking families to work together to create a poster for BHM, however; this is not mandatory. If you choose to create a poster, take a photo and email the photo to your scholar's teacher.
Dress Code: As we continue with distance learning, the kindergarten teachers and paraprofessionals have noticed an increase in pajamas being worn during class. Though we are learning virtually, we are still in school. Your scholar does not have to wear the school uniform, however; they DO have to dress and wear clothing. Pajamas may NOT be worn during school hours. Changing into clothes helps the students' mindset change in order for them to focus on school and their work. Starting this week, students who are seen wearing pajamas during class will lose a dojo point.
Eating During Class: We have also noticed an increase in scholars eating while on Zoom. Scholars are NOT to eat while they are in class. Students should eat during their lunch/recess break (9:55-10:40) or during their break after specials (12:55-1:40). We understand that your scholar may need to finish a few bites of a meal and if that is the case, they can turn off their camera until they are finished. We also understand that there may be an occasional circumstance in which the scholar could not eat during the break. If that is the case, reach out to your scholar's teacher so they can make an exception. Dojo points will start being taken from those who continue to eat during class.
