2020-2021 SY Impact Aid Survey
The U.S. Department of Education requires all school systems that receive federal funding to survey each student every year. The need for federal grant funds to support our schools is needed now more than ever. We are pleased to announce that the annual Impact Aid Survey has gone digital! An email was sent to families via the ScribOrder Family Dashboard on December 1, 2020 with information regarding the procedures for logging in and completing the survey. In order to complete the survey, you will use your existing ScribOrder family dashboard account. If you do not have a dashboard, you will need to create an account before you can access the survey. Additionally, you must update your student’s profile page to the current grade level. The deadline for completion is January 15, 2021. Thank you for your continued support.

ROARING Toward Winter Break
This week in RELA, we began writing our research essays. Please ensure your student has completed their STEM Fair Research Paper Introduction prior to 12/21. We will continue working on them next week, and during winter break. This week we finished working with plot and setting in reading as well. Next week, students will write persuasive winter essays. In Social Studies this week, we started Ch. 4, learning about what economies are and how the United States economy functions. Next week, we will continue learning about U.S. Economy. In Math, we just finished our multiplication topic and will be moving onto division. Students will be learning division differently than parents did when they were elementary age. We will put a lot of emphasis on using place value and partial quotients. The long division algorithm is not specifically taught but we will introduce it as one of the strategies students can use. In Science, we have been in the full swing of things! STEM fair is upon us! We have talked about the different components and how their final projects will be graded. All topics have been approved. If it is not listed in the approved document please reach out on DOJO what the topic is with the independent and dependent variables. We will check in with your scholar to see if they can convey this. We will be using the “🔬STEM Fair Organizer” To outline their presentation. Follow the 📅 STEM fair timeline 20-21. Final projects are due January 19th.
