Working hard!
This week in science we discussed different forms of energy. We also discussed sound energy and the waves that it makes. In health, we talked about the human digestive system and the technical vocabulary that goes with this section. We also talked about our student emails and the appropriate ways to use them. Next week we will be working on Sanford Harmony lessons. We will be continuing our buddy up program in our classes and having some tough conversations about how we talk to others and how it makes us feel. We continue to work on multiplication in math. We will be working with 2 digit x 2 digit. Many of our scholars struggle with this due to lack of fluency with their multiplication facts. Please help by reinforcing their facts at home so they can enjoy greater success with advanced topics in math. There will be no math, science, or health homework next week. This week in RELA, students determined the main idea of portions of text and responded to them appropriately by reading "The Man Who Named the Clouds." Next week, we will begin writing persuasive letters. There will be no RELA homework next week. This week in Social Studies, students took their Chapter 1 Social Studies Assessment. Students recalled information learned about Land Regions in the United States, Weather and Climate, Regions and their Resources, and adapting to the Environment.

Coffee Collaborations Catch-Up!
Having a Growth Mindset is critical in order to reach our full potential, and to love the journey of that pursuit! I will continue to host events that explore how to shift from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset throughout the school year , and we will have fun collaborations, practices, and activities along the way. We are in this together! Here are 2 ideas that you can try at home in support of developing and becoming a Growth Mindset Family! I am quite literally obsessed with biglifejournal.com, and these resources came directly from there. Check them out! They have a great podcast for children to listen to, too! I hope you will join us at our next Coffee Collaboration, as we share even more resources and tools! Did you know? When we practice gratitude each day, we: sleep better, have a healthier resting heart rate, lower anxiety and raise our self esteem?! As we gear up for a holiday focused on giving Thanks.... I want you all to know how Grateful I am for getting to serve this incredible Tigers Den! You are my joy :)
