Next week we will be preparing to celebrate our Kindergarten students and all of their accomplishments throughout the year.
Reminders:
-Monday, June 3, 2019: Field trip to the National Zoo. We will leave the school at 8am. All CHAPERONES please see Ms. McAllister Monday morning to receive your group information.
-Friday, June 7, 2019: Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony 8:30am - 9:30am. Girls are to wear white dresses and boys are to wear black bottoms with white tops. Please make sure that your child is at school no later than 8am.
***Please note that after the ceremony you are free to sign your child out with Mrs. Virgil for an early dismissal.***

Reading - We will be reading "Akiak" by Robert Blake.
Reading skills: fact and opinion and non-fiction text features.
Math - We are continuing with Chapter 14, which is shapes and their attributes.
Science - We are continuing our unit on Life Science. This week we will create solar ovens.
Social Studies - We are continuing to learn about different cultures and family differences.
Health - We are continuing to learn about nutrition and choosing food for meals and snacks.
The Family Tree Oral Presentation is due on June 7, 2019. Information about this project was given to students with their homework sheet. It has also been posted on Class Dojo.

The End is Near
|
The end of the school year is fast approaching, please remind your scholar that we still expect them to ROAR! Many students have needed frequent reminders to follow the rules. This week was so fun, with the Vocabulary Parade and Field Day. We would like to thank you all for volunteering.
This summer, CMIT Academy will be offering an amazing summer camp. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Crosby, mtolbert@cmitelementary.org.

We had a great time on our Field trip to Annapolis! We learned a lot about our state capital and even got some compliments for being so knowledgeable!
Our Vocabulary Parade and Field Day were a huge success! Thank you to all students who participated.
We'd like to compliment all of our students for their perseverance throughout MCAP testing! It was tough, but we worked hard throughout! Well done, 4th grade!

Hello Parents!
We made it, the last day is right around the corner.
In class, we are focusing on our end of the year projects. Students are creating a review book they can take on to 6th grade. This is an in class assignment with the following passed out to each student, a rubric, topics the pages should consist of and directions on how each page should be formatted. Many students are lacking in materials i.e markers or colored pencils for their creations. Please ensure they have the materials for their projects by asking them. The in class Final Projects and all make up work for math and science are due Friday June 7th.
ELA:
Students will be presenting their May book reports on June 3. No late projects will be accepted. Students WILL receive homework this week. This will be the last week of homework. They will continue to read Maniac Magee and finish the rest of the assignments.
Social Studies:
Students will finish the year with chapter 6 lesson 1. We will complete activities in class and take one final quiz.
