While this has been a very short week, we are still expecting our third graders to do their best. Please encourage your scholar to "ROAR" so that they may have the privileges that come with making positive choices. In the upcoming weeks, we will be preparing our third graders for the PARCC test. There will be a small amount of class time dedicated to preparing students and introducing them to the format. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies. – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Resiliency!
Hello Tigers' Den! I can not emphasize enough, now more than ever, the importance of teaching and modeling resiliency in our children. It is, without a doubt, what I spend most of my 1:1 and small group counseling time addressing in a reactive scope. Just think: if we were proactively instilling, dialoging, practicing and reflecting on independent resilience, how our children would approach obstacles. What a powerful mindshift! [and if they are reading, its a double dip in skills we are building on! :)]

Graciously, Your School Counselor [Mrs. Whitney Green]
