2nd Grade News
|
2nd Grade had a great time making Mayflower boats to hold all the "pilgrims" for STEAM day this week.
Due to the fact that there will only be two days of school next week, we will not be beginning a new week of reading. There will not be a spelling list next week either. We will be continuing to work on topic 3 in math.
If you have not already done so, please send your child into school with a box anywhere between the size of a tissue box and a shoe box. We will be using these to create Fall floats next week.
A BIG thank you to all the parents who have donated school supplies so far this year to help make our project based learning such a success!

An Attitude of Gratitude, for our Kids (...even when its really hard at times!)
|
In the plethora of communities I subscribe to, I am constantly pulling ideas from this one, and resources from that one, suggestions from another still, and assessing my own thoughts and dialogues in articles I read about best practices...
Recently, I have come to really love "Big Life Journal" and this gem just HAD to be shared!
It is all about perspective.
The mindset we have when we enter a situation, the way we think about a conflict and approach a decision/action/reaction...determines the outcome so much more than we often give acknowledgement.
At times, we have to dig a bit deeper to hold on to the perspective we want, and it is nothing shy of human to fault in doing so when pushed to our limits.
I love this visual reminder on how to "spin" some of our challenging feelings to the positive perspective that will carry us through moments of frustration and exhaustion.
I am grateful for all of our Tigers, as I know you are too!
Graciously,
Your School Counselor
[Mrs. Whitney Green]
