Mid-Atlanctic Fundraiser Pick up
All fundraiser items should be picked up from the school media center on November 7th from 3:00-6:00PM. Our school does not have room to store items overnight. The school will not be responsible for items not picked up. If you are unable to make it on Tuesday you should call and make other arrangements prior to the delivery date. We were able to purchase two additional chrome carts with the money from our fundraiser profits. Thank you for your support.

2nd Grade Updates
Dear Parents,

Thank you for pumpkin donations. We had an awesome Pumpkin Day! We integrated STEM activities, "dissected" a pumpkin, and read pumpkin-related literacy books.

2nd graders have learned about Story Elements, and we will be culminating this learning with a project. It is a Coat Hanger Book Report Mobile. We have sent out project guidelines and rubrics. An e-copy will be accessible on the grade level website. This project is due in two weeks' time on Monday, November 13th. Students will present these book report projects orally on that day.

Please continue to support your child with the STEM Fair project process as well. The final project will be due on January 3rd for grading and presenting.

For math, we'd like to request that you ensure your child is studying basic 0-20 addition and subtraction facts with flashcards and online games.

Additionally, please READ daily and ensure your child is completing their reading logs and discussing their reading with you.

Please contact us for signing up for Parent-Teacher Conferences (no school for students) on November 10th.

Happy Veteran's Day!
We would like to wish a Happy Veteran's Day to Ms. Nick, who served in the U.S. Air Force and Delsean Speights (Ms. Tolbert's son), who served in the U.S. Army. Thank both of you for your service! We would also like to acknowledge and thank Ms. Tolbert's youngest son, Naim Ashshadi for his service. He is active duty Army and stationed in Korea.

November 9 will be the last day of the first quarter. Going forward, please ensure that your scholar completes all classwork and homework. On November 10, we will have Parent/Teacher conferences and there will be no school for students. We look forward to meeting with you.

We would like to thank all the parents that volunteered this week. Without your assistance, Character Day and pumpkin painting, would not have been possible. Thanks for your support.
