On Saturday, December 11th, your CMIT North Golden Tiger Debate Team showed up and showed out at the 2021 WUDL Holiday Classic. The teams of Dailyn Wray and Chelsea AyiteyAdjin and Precious Sobowale and Shawn Kelly took 6th place and 2nd place respectively in the Varsity divison! Congratulate them on their amazing showing during their first time debating Varsity. Two of our four Varsity speakers also won individual speaker awards , Dailyn Wray won 2nd place and Precious Sobowale won 5th place speaker awards. An excellent accomplishment for our varsity debaters. A whopping 6 Novice teams competed in their first ever tournament! The teams of Grace Ayodele and Richard Yesufu, William Ross and Kaleb Castleman, Matthew O' Donnell and Moyo Adeyemo, Kamryn Smith and Therese Edeme, Huda Chaudry and Erick Charles, and Atalya Thomas and Emmanuela Eshun all competed in the tournament's super competitive novice field. Although it was the first tournament for all these teams, the team of Kamryn Smith and Therese Edeme took the 8th place team award! Overall CMIT was awarded the team that has shown the most growth since the last tournament. The team garnered high praise from tournament organizers and other coaches for their creative counter plan, super professional demeanor, and general dedication. It was a great day for Tiger Debate!
